Omagh Pride– wet, not dampened

A downpour of Biblical proportions did not stop over 200 people marching through Omagh in the town’s fifth Pride celebration. Marchers were wet but not dampened. Counter-demonstrators were made of lesser stuff. Numbers in two counter-protests were greatly down in numbers and energy on previous years.

Christine Boyle from NIPSA spoke to the rally, pointing to her union’s role in supporting LGTBQ+ rights. NIPSA was the most visible trade union on the march.

Militant Left members helped with stewarding on the day.
